When is the best time of year for birding in Jamaica?
Endemics can be seen year-round. December to April adds North American migrants, and the breeding season from March to June brings the most song and activity. Early morning is best whatever the month.
Which sites do you visit?
Popular choices are the Blue Mountains (Hardwar Gap and Section), Cockpit Country and the Windsor area, Rocklands Bird Sanctuary, and the Black River wetlands. We tailor the route to your list and your base.
How many endemic species can I expect to see?
A well-planned full day in the Blue Mountains typically yields 15 to 20 endemics. Multi-day itineraries covering two regions can approach the full 28.
Is the tour suitable for beginners?
Yes. Our guides are as happy introducing first-timers to the Doctor Bird as they are chasing a lifer for an experienced lister. Let us know your experience level when you book.
